The Caesar salad is a sure thing and so are the fries. My fav drink is the Dark and Stormy. And another thing to like? Breakfast is served all day.
If you like the party scene after the club, come here to eat and mingle! The place to be after the club closes.
Love this place! It's too bad they're always so packed, but I guess that's what happens when you serve awesome food! My favorite is the meatballs! Awesome ok a late night after the bar! Oh and the cupcakes...oh my gosh the cupcakes!
Worst service EVER – It's unfortunate to have to post a negative review for a spot with such consistently good food, but my experience at K24 today was so terrible, I had to say something.
After work my friend and I trekked to Hollywood specifically to eat at K24. When we walked in at 2:45pm, the restaurant was almost empty except for one couple looking extremely unhappy. My friend even commented on how miserable they looked. After we sat down, it took almost ten minutes for our server, Beauden, to notice us and come take our drink orders. We also ordered our food, a veggie burger and a bowl of veggie chili, right away because we were starving.
Our drinks came... we drank them... and sat... and sat... and sat. Finally our server came back and said the food would be out soon. We ordered another round of drinks since ours were already gone. It was now 3:28 and no food on the table. (I only know the times because I'm a server, so when it started to feel unreasonable I checked, to make sure we weren't just grumpy and hungry. I'm not in the habit of timing my meals). While we waited, we watched the unhappy couple send their food back to be packed to-go as soon as it came out, pay for drinks, and leave very clearly pissed off.
Our chili came out while we were waiting on the second drink, which took them over ten minutes to make. We didn't get the drink until our chili was gone. Finally, over a half hour after we ordered, our burger came out. We asked for mustard... it never came. Our server wouldn't make eye contact or stop at our table. Finally we said loudly as he passed by "excuse me, could we please have mustard" and he throws two to-go packets of heinz yellow mustard down without a word. Mind you, the place is still almost empty. By the time the mustard came we were pretty much done eating. Then the wait to get the check began. Our waiter continued to ignore us.
In absolute frustration I asked the bartender if we could talk to a manager. The manager, Reid, was apparently sitting at the bar chatting with his friend as customers were leaving, obviously angry about the time food was taking. He begrudgingly got up, came over, and asked what was wrong. I explained that the food was great and we, as servers ourselves, hated to complain, but the time it took to get food and drinks was a bummer. I didn't even mention our server ignoring us or the mustard, just the amount of time we waited to eat. He said "well, the bar was low on tequila so they had to run and get some. That's why your drinks were slow. Let me go ask the kitchen about the food." He then walked away, went to the host stand, and stood there talking to the hostess until we left.
Our server dropped the check and we had to flag him down to get change. He then threw the change on the table without a word. On the way out I asked if there was a way I could reach the GM and Reid handed me the restaurant business card and said "He's out of town. What's your name?" I introduced myself and asked again if the manager had a personal business card and he said "if you want to call in 12 days he'll be back by then. Bye bye Allison".
Hands down the worst customer service I have EVER had in a restaurant. No matter how good the food or drinks are, I'll never go back. Getting crap service during a rush is one thing, and I'd never complain about that. Getting crap service at 3pm when it's dead and then being treated poorly by management is something else entirely. Which is sad, because the chili is really great.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER AND TEMPORARILY OVERCHARGED MY CREDIT CARD. Service here is disgusting in my experience.
Me and my 7 friends came to eat here late one night. The waiter delivered our food and disappeared. We had to goto bar for Waters and additional stuff. Waiter showed up at the end of the meal to deliver our bills and disappeared completely again.
Finally, to leave we had to grab a busboy to run our credit cards. I wrote on the receipt the service was terrible and was appalled THEY HAD FORCED THE TIP onto my receipt. I left no additional tip and wrote on the receipt the service was terrible.
Waiter was so seedy, I checked my statement to find I was over billed an additional tip apparently! I called the manager Gene. He assured me if I sent it there that day he would take care of it right away and refund my money. I did so. I heard nothing back and sent and email 2 days later. Gene assured me that he would take care of it and call me. A day later still no call, I emailed again asking for the owner.
Then he looks into it and tells me that the $3 tip was an over authorization and had been corrected. In spite of the bad service complaint and promise to refund me, I get no refund for meal until I complain again. In the end after a WEEK of complaining I give up. They can keep the money.
In my opinion NEVER GO HERE they wouldnt know customer service if it bit them in the butt. Foods not that impressive even if your drunk.
Poor management breeds poor employees. Caveat Emptor.
Great Burger and Fries all day long! – I think their Burgers are totally define. The bun and meat are delicious, i would recommend this place to anyway.
I like the fact that its open pretty much all the time and the DJ spins a few records for a nice ambiance! Fun!
GO There!!! – When the club closes at two and you are starving where should you go....the answer is Kitchen 24!!!! I went there on a Tuesday around 3 am and it was packed with everyone in their club attire and it had loud music playing. First impression was definitely fun and I couldn't wait to sit and look at the menu. They even had a candy bar with sour belts!!! Food was delivered promptly and tasted amazing. Great home cooking and definitely a fun spot!
Great Place near the Arclight! – My friends and I went to catch a film at the Arclight recently, unfortunately we came late and the tickets were sold out so we had a ton of time to kill before the next showing. We headed down Sunset and turned onto Caheunga looking for a place to eat and grab a drink and we saw Kitchen 24. The place is ADORABLE. Very trendy, modern and cute sort of feel. The place was completely full when we got there (It was maybe like 1030 pm on a friday) and we had to sit at the bar.
With a party of 6 it was a little difficult, but the bartender was a doll. She was super nice to us even though 2 of us didn't get anything. (They just weren't hungry).
I couldn't decide what I wanted so I told the bartender just something fruity. She gave me one of their specialty cocktails with grapefruit juice. Yum Yum. My friends ordered burgers and fries. The fries are amazing. And the place has excellent desserts. Prices are a little higher but thats to be expected for the area. I think my cocktail was 13 dollars? But they didn't even charge my friend for the espresso she got. She was exhausted and that's all she ordered. I think they took pity on her tired face. Haha.
Would definitely go back if I was in the area.
Disco fries keep you dancin! – It's a cute place. My companion and I went to dinner last night for my birthday. The disco fries were amazing and my cheeseburger was almost perfection. My companion ordered their Salmon Florentine breakfast which is considered one of their specialties. He thought it was good but would not order it again. Too salty. He also had their strawberry lemonade and thought it was great but the no refills! The menu stated $4.50 and they charged us $5. I will still go back despite this. Their build your own smac and cheese sounds like a must try! The music they played was right up my alley and it made for a very very good birthday :)
Eggs Benedict! – If you are looking for a sensational eggs benedict, this is your place. My boyfriend first introduced me to K24 9 months ago and I was blown away by how excellent the eggs benedict were! The sauce they use is perfecto and they also added fresh avocado. So delish, we've been twice in one week before ha.
Also they're turkey burger is prettttty impressive!
Try it out!!
Great food. Chill spot. Love it. – I love this place. Great food. Great people. And last week I saw Macy Gray spinning in their high-rise DJ booth. Sweet. I try to make here once a week. Sometimes more. HIGHLY recommended.
The Steak Salad is AMAZING – The steak salad is amazing. Really great quality steak, i'm craving it now. The atmosphere is pretty cool and I like that it has a full bar. Usually head out here to pregame before heading to a bar/lounge down the street.
Great go-to spot! – I came here for the first time when a friend came to visit from out of town. We wanted to go somewhere cool, but with a comfy, laid-back menu. My friend ordered the veggie chili and said it was the best she's ever had. I'm a vegetarian, and asked about their home-made veggie burger. Our waiter said it was the best he's ever had, so I took his recommendation and ordered it. Presentation was great, sweet potato fries were close to perfect. The chick-pea based patty was, well...hot hummus. It was good for a hot hummus burger, but the best veggie burger ever? Not so much. Move on to another menu item.
We didn't stay for dessert, but we did leave with a list of things we want ti try on our next visit.
The prices were surprisingly awesome. You's expect to be paying a lot more for a place this cool. Unfortunately, you end up handing over whatever you may be "saving" over to the $10 evening valet.
The waiters working this night were fantastic! My friend kept referring to Elmo, our waiter for the rest of her trip!
Overall, I can't wait to go back.
Hollywood's 24/7 ultra-chic diner dishes up organic all-American cuisine and cocktails, hosting a trendy late night Cahuenga Corridor scene into the wee hours. – In Short
This is likely the most rocking diner spot in Hollywood since Beck was seen eating fried chicken at Fred 62 back in the "Odelay" era. Saturday mornings find laconic punk tunes washing over grungy tattooed rockers nursing hangovers at the DIY bloody mary bar; weekend brunch is a crush with a farmer's market crowd vying for Challah-Lujah French toast and garden benedicts. Designed by Kris Keith (Goa, Ortolan), the retro-luxe diner has arty-design touches like welded silverware lamps, chrome fixtures and a snazzy terrazzo horseshoe bar. Late night becomes a scene unto itself as club kids eat burgers and meat loaf to the beat of live DJs in the space that was once the '60s jazz club Shelly's Manne-Hole.
Keep this kitchen in mind! – I came to Kitchen 24 as part of a Citysearch event and was pleasantly surprised by the trendy transformation this restaurant has put on the classic, American diner experience. They even got me to like two dishes I normally despise: chili and pot-pie! Both meals were so rich and flavorful. I licked my plate clean. I also bought a carrot cupcake for dessert that taste-wise was definitely on-par with Sprinkles, Yummy or any other of the area?s cupcake specialty stores. Plus, the utensil chandeliers along with the pink and brown upholstery at the restaurant gave the place a very hip vibe; perfect for luring in those Hollywood club goers for a late-night snack. I foresee good things for this retro-chic diner in the future!
Finally a Great Late Night Spot – After a long night out in Hollywood it's impossible to find a decent place to eat. Until now, the only options were enduring the line and abysmal service at Mel's or settling for a Jack in the Box monster taco. My friends and I noticed Kitchen 24 as we were leaving Goa last Thursday night. It was the only place on Cahuenga that was beautifully lit and welcoming. We didn't expect much for a 24 hour place, but we were pleasantly surprised. Every single thing that we ordered was incredible. I had the meatball sandwich on foccatia (typical post-clubbing indulgence) and one of my friends got the gingerbread pancakes with walnut butter. The fare is classic american diner, but with a refreshing modern twist. The prices were reasonable too, which is a major plus. This is definitely my new late night spot, and I could soon become a daytime regular as well. I highly reccomend this place.
A Great place to eat/pre game! Cocktails at a diner? Yes Please! – I ate here with a group of friends at about 10pm On Saturday night before we went to Kress for bottle service. We heard Kitchen 24 was the new spot to be at, so we decided to check it out. HEaring buzz like that on a place, you'd expect to spend a lot. After all, we were spending a few grand later that night at Kress. Well, Kitchen 24 is about the cheapest place in Hollywood, in a good way! Everything we ate was under $12, and I know that one dish was only $7 and had eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, pancakes, and toast. My bud asked for gingerbread pancakes instead of regular ones (for a dollar more) and gave one to me (yes, it had 2). They were insanely good, as good or better than griddle or toast or anywhere else. The drinks were very good too. We had only a round because a couple bottles were waiting for us, but they were all $10 and big and strong, and with fresh ingredients. What sets this place off is the vibe. Cool waitstaff, great tunes playing, 2 huge and awesome TVs (Can you say Sunday Football?), an amazing decor, and a really dope candy and cupcake stand. Our skillet apple pie a la mode was really good, one of the best I've ever had. Out waiter was a hot female with a great personality. You might think the "beautiful people" wouldn't work in a diner, but I think they do pretty well here...especially in those pink pants. Oh, did I mention the DJ? Nice touch. Im glad to welcome you to the neighborhood, Kitchen 24. Pleased to make your aquaintance.
Best Breakfast in Hollywood – My girlfriend and I had breakfast here on Sunday and we both loved it. They had a Make Your Own Bloody Mary Bar - which is always a great way to start off a Sunday. We had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and the Mediterranean Tofu Scramble - both were really tasty. We loved the decor and vibe of the place. But the best thing about it is the price point - everything on the breakfast menu was less than $10. You can't beat that. The service was good. I had heard that the service has been a bit slow because they opened just a month ago - but we didn't experience that at all. This will definitely become one of our regular spots. Can't wait to go back and try some other things on the menu.
Horrible Service - Avoid at all costs!!! – THE SERVICE IN THIS PLACE IS ATROCIOUS! For those who posted before that you'd come back in a month - don't even put forth the effort; nothing has changed. I came in with a group of 6 at 11:15 pm on a Saturday. We got seated right away but then waited 15 minutes for a server to even approach our table to ask about drinks (only when I flagged her down, did she come over). It took her another 5 minutes to bring over a coke, diet coke 2 waters and 2 cocktails (she didn't bring them all together either). She took our order which consisted of: 3 BLT's, a burger and an order of fish and chips. It took over an hour to receive 3 BLT's (one of which looked like bacon bits has been added to it, while the others had huge piles of bacon on it). Then it took another 20 minutes for the other 2 dishes to arrive - the burger was prepared wrong and sent back. 15 minutes later, the other 2 dishes arrive, plus the BLT lacking bacon was received - The burger was STILL wrong!!! The server said she'd take off 50% from the bill, but later said the manager wouldn't allow it. Instead, they gave us some crappy cupcakes for free. I am NEVER going back to this place. Avoid at all costs!!! They have a manager who has no idea how to treat customers for his lack of experience running a pass or the restaurant itself. I don't totally blame the server, but a good server would notice that it taking over 90 minutes to serve a burger, fried fish ans 3 BLT's. Save time and go someplace else, I'm sure you'll be treated with more respect almost anywhere else.
